A day at the World Championships Time Trial! To remember

The best of the world at my back door

A short story about my experience yesterday watching the time trial for the elite riders of cycling between Knokke and Bruges. I have one big word for it, Astonishing!
The atmosphere was incredible, a wall of people all over the 43 kilometer long track.
All the riders were cheered on, the Belgians of course were cheered on a bit harder than the others, but that's just the home advantage.

But how hard these cyclists go, is just undescribable if you don't experience it live.
The winner, Filippo Ganna averaged over 54 kilometers per hour. That means that you have to ride close to 60 kilometers per hour for the most of the course, because the cornering slows you down so much.

The aerodynamic way they hold themselves for so long, is almost unbearable, but they do it, and are able to stear correctly. Topsport from the highest shelve.

If you ever have the chance to go and watch a time trial live, don't hesitate and do it, you will be astonished by the performance of these cyclists.

Sincerely,

You lucky bastard lol. Would love to watch one of those and will one day. Great it was so close to where you live and you took advantage.

It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and free! 😉 Except for the dozen beers I drank 😎
