Brainstorming...
I'm pretty stoked to chat about how we could tap into the Hive.io mojo to tackle some actual issues in our neck of the woods. I'm not exactly sure how far my Actifit.io reach goes, but I reckon if we band together, we could genuinely shake things up using the Hive.io network.
Right now, I'm diving into ways we can use Hive.io to tackle local problems - you know, stuff like homelessness and hunger. The potential here is huge, and I'm on the lookout for folks who vibe with the idea of throwing some positive vibes into the mix.
I've been getting in the mix with the Hive community to crank up our efforts. Tossing around tags, diving into discussions - the whole shebang. I'm all about linking up with those who are as jazzed up about social causes and community building as I am. So, why not jump into the convo?
There's already some cool stuff going on in the Hive space, addressing all sorts of social issues. I'm eyeing up some collabs with these projects, shouting about their work on my blog, and figuring out how we can all toss our hats into the ring to make a real dent.
Right now, I'm scraping together some funds on Hive Engine to slap together some business cards. With just a smidge more love, I'll have a design that screams "Check us out!" and can really push our cause. You can follow my journey on the blog for the inside scoop.
I'm itching to reach out to local big shots - politicians, shelters, food banks, charities, you name it. In the upcoming posts, I'll spill the beans on how it's going, the hiccups, and the victories. If you've danced this dance before, spill the tea on your approach - I'm all ears.

I've been meaning to look into Hive Stake Based Income for a bit, figure out how it works, what it does, what I need to do to start generating an income for others. Do you know of it?
I've heard nothing. Whatever that can be done, as long as it doesn't benefit those at the top more than those in the lower range. I'm trying to find ways to utilize it in the community in the real world.

Perhaps my friend! Allow me a different view: maybe making perfection the goal is my problem? Perfect; the enemy of good.
With HSBI, it seems what you have to do is send HIVE to an account, with an account name or names in the memo field, and then the accounts you memo ('sponsor') get upvotes from the HSBI accounts (looks like there's ten of them)...
Back on the STEEM parts of the blockchain it was called @steembasicincome — linking it to the concept of a Universal Basic Income though I think the link was tenuous as today it's been renamed Hive Stake Based Income.

As a whole of the community. Those who are going to utilize and observe. Its kind of like a quantum thing... it only matters to those present. It doesn't have to be something complex, start small and get small goal posts met.
Interesting! And you're right, it's not easy to quantify perfection. I'll start small. The main difficulty I have is choosing who to memo with my transaction for HSBI. That's why I invoke the UBI. I would rather it were universal, everyone got it, so I wouldn't have to pick and choose.
I would too, but we do what we can. You can just pick one, and then pick somebody else the next time.

Oh yes, thank you for the reminder! I had forgotten about the whole number requirement, but I remember now seeing that somewhere on the Hive SBI site.

You could create an account that would upvote everyone.
You're right, that might work. I don't know how to automate the following of every account, I couldn't possibly do it manually. Then there's my lack of real wealth to buy HIVE to stake on said account to make it function.
That would be ripe for abuse though too. I think it's 10,000 HP to 'unlock' account creation priveleges on the blockchain level. Then you can create new accounts with the only cost being Resource Credits. People could double, triple, quadruple, et cetera dip on votes from this hypothetical account by creating new accounts for themselves.

I wonder if that is inevitable for any system of resource allocation built on quantification and numerals. The prevailing tendency is that higher number = greater power over resource allocation in a positive feedback loop for the actor
Those at the bottom need it.... I don't know how you can manage that. I don't have the technical know how.

Maybe you can start a registry for minnows. Hive Minnow Registry and you can upvote those accounts.
I think there already exists minnow support initiatives on Hive! Let me look...

Found a whole bunch more leads by searching 'minnow' on the Ecency app. Would need to run through and see what was current and what was defuct / abandoned / part of the legacy chain though.

We should be able to get involved in these initiatives in some way. It would be more effective to join what already exists than to try forge a new path with that, in my opinion
