Prayer is a request from God and when we pray, we are making request from God. Prayer is asking from God and not for lengthy statements and it shouldn't be with blabbing.

He stated the mistakes being made by the Catholic that prays to Mary. Mary should not be an object of worship because even Mary prayed to God.

Our prayer should be precise, coincise and direct as exemplified by the disciples when they prayed for the replacement of Judas after he betrayed Jesus and hung himself. We should not make our prayer to be wordy because before we call on God, He knows our heart desires. We should also avoid vain repetitions.

Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

We should also offer our prayer with Thanksgiving just as Jesus did when He fed the multitude and when He rose Lazarus from the dead. So, it is proper for us to pray even before we eat. We should pray to God and thank Him.

When should we pray? We should pray without season and continually. We shouldn't pray only when we have troubles but continually at all times. We shouldn't pray to God only on our birthdays. We should know how to pray to God in comfort and even in difficulties. A prayer should be simple. God is not slow to hear us.

God searches the heart and fornicating comes from the heart. We can't pray effectively when our heart is not pure. God listens to the heart of the pure when we abhor no bitterness and hatred. We need to purge out heart of any evil so our prayer can be heard by God.

Let us cleanse our hearts and embrace righteousness before we pray to God. We need to purify our heart and obey God. It is the Word of God that cleanses and purifies us.

Ephesians 4:31 (NIV)

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

Every creature of God is good so far we eat them with thanksgiving. The food we are about to eat, if we pray it is being blessed by God. Prayer is a request or a petition from God. God is always ready to hear our prayers.

1 Timothy 4:5 (NIV)

For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,
because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
