Unconvincing PSG.

PSG travelled to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City in their UEFA Champions League group stage, the second leg. With the clouds of doubt over Pochettino regarding the vacant space at Manchester United, he left little to help the rumours as the Parisians are calling for his head after a 2-1 defeat to Pep Guardiola's men.

The Parisians would have been dreaming of their fortune changing after Mbappe gave them the lead in the second half but a quick rally from City saw them overturn the 1-0 deficit to produce a comeback as they won the game by 2-1 with Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus - as they condemned Messi and co to a defeat.

Even though both Manchester City and PSG have qualified for the next round, PSG are still struggling to convince everyone of their footballing credentials even with a star-studded team that boasts of Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, Di Maria and now, the returning Sergio Ramos.

Manchester City gave PSG a taste of what's to come in the 5th minute after Mahrez's free-kick delivery into the box was met by Rodri. His header was destined for the back of the net but Kimbempe headed the ball off the line before Mahrez also managed a shot from a tight angle but he wasn't beating the goalkeeper.

Brilliant interplay from Manchester City almost resulted in a goal in the 18th minute as Mahrez was perfectly set up in the box. He was trying to pick out the top left corner but Hakimi's header saved the day as the ball went over the bar.

In the 27th minute, Nuno Mended decided to go all the way and have a shot on goal but his shot wasn't much of a trouble for City's goalkeeper; Ederson.

City responded in like fashion after a brilliant effort from Cancelo on the left side of the pitch led to delivery into the box that wasn't cleared properly. It fell graciously to Gundogan and he hammed his shot but it was only good enough to hit the post.

In the 50th minute, Paris went ahead after a swift and brilliant play by PSG which was orchestrated by Messi. Mbappe was found finally inside the box and he slotted the ball underneath Ederson as they got the lead at the Etihad.

PSG's lead only lasted 13 minutes as City also responded with another brilliant attack as Walker was found on the right-hand side of the pitch. He managed to send his ball into the box to pick out Gabriel Jesus but he missed. Sterling was there to pounce and he didn't miss as he guided the ball into the back of the net to restore parity, 1-1.

City turned the game on its head in the 76th minute after Gundogan found Mahrez whose cross into the box picked out the little magician; Bernado Silva and his touch pass for Gabriel Jesus was spot on as he scored without hesitation to give City a 2-1 lead.

It was evident as City played as a team but that much can't be said regarding Pochettino's men as they were a little clueless in attack and even in their gameplay. They would need to do much in the round of 16 if they are not to exit the competition.

Did you see what Henry said? "You won’t win UCL defending with seven players – Henry". The actual scenario of PSG right now.

I am surprised to see them play badly with quality players at their disposal.
