Hello everyone

After a summer break we return with "My Vinyl Collection", as you may have read in the title of the post, it is another gem from the 80s and also the soundtrack of an iconic film for teenagers in the middle of that decade. "El Club de los Cinco" was the translation of the title in Spanish but originally in English it was called "The Breakfast Club".

Simple Minds was a Scottish rock band, which together with U2 filled dance floors despite not making dance music, but I guarantee you that both this song and U2's "Sunday Bloody Sunday" have filled more dance floors than even the youngest of us can imagine. So much so that what I am showing you today is a maxi-single, that is, a 12-inch, 45 r.p.m. vinyl long-duration, a format designed for DJs, with an elongated input and output to facilitate mixing, what today would be an extended mix.

The origin of this album, which as you may have seen in the photos, has a fairly damaged cover, is the same as others that you have already seen such as UB40, they were left to me by a guy in a bar that I ran in 1992. I did not return them to him because he never appeared again and it is not surprising since he was dedicated to selling stimulant products of various kinds, he surely had to disappear for obvious reasons.

The case that left me with many records that I still have, although as I already told you, this collection is just a small sample of the immense vinyl collection that there was in my house when I still lived with my parents. I don't rule out also making a series of the vinyls that I no longer have 😜.

And now comes the best part, this copy is signed, although I couldn't say which of the members or former members of the band it could belong to, if it belongs to any of them, which would be normal, so here's a challenge Let's see if someone is able to decipher the name, I leave below all the names and the photo of the signature, which may also be upside down 😅.

Hola a todos

Después de una pausa estival volvemos con "Mi Colección de Vinilos", como habréis leido en el titulo del post, se trata de otra joya de los años 80 y además banda sonora de una película icónica para los adolescentes de mediados de aquella década. "El Club de los Cinco" fue la traducción del título en español pero en inglés se llamaba "The Breakfast Club".

Simple Minds fué un grupo de rock escocés, que junto a U2 llenaban pistas de baile a pesar de no hacer música dance, pero os garantizo que tanto este tema como el "Sunday Bloody Sunday" de U2 han llenado más pistas de baile de lo jamás los más jóvenes podáis imaginar. Tanto es así que lo que hoy os estoy mostrando es un maxi-single, es decir un vinilo de 12 pulgadas y 45 r.p.m. de larga duración, un formato pensado para los DJs, con una entrada y salida alargada para facilitar la mezcla, lo que hoy sería un extended mix.

La procendencia de este disco, que como habréis visto en las fotos, tiene la carátula bastante castigada, es la misma que otros que ya he habéis visto como el de UB40, me los dejó un individuo en un bar que yo regentaba en el año 1992, no se los devolví porque nunca volvió a aparecer y no es de extrañar ya que se dedicaba a vender productos estimulantes de diversa índole, seguramente tuvo que desparecer por motivos obvios.

El caso que me dejó muchos discos que aún conservo, aunque como ya os conté esta colección es apenas una pequeña muestra de la inmensa colección de vinilos que llegó a haber en mi casa cuando aún vivía con mis padres. No descarto hacer también una serie de los vinilos que ya no tengo 😜.

Y ahora viene lo mejor, esta copia esta firmada, aunque no sabría decir a cual de los miembros o ex-miembros de la banda podría pertenecer, si es que es de alguno de ellos, que sería lo normal, así que ahí va un reto, a ver si alguien es capaz de descifrar el nombre, dejo debajo todos los nombres y la foto de la firma, que además puede que esté al revés 😅.
