Hello everyone

I already wanted to show you this vinyl, and Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses is probably one of those albums that marked a generation, even there were 3 years left until the explosion of grunge but hard rock returned strongly at the end of the 80s with Nirvana, Mudhoney, Black Crowes, Metallica or Red Hot Chilli Peppers among many others.

Personally, in those years, the late 80s, I still enjoyed the electronic sound of EBM or Acid House more, but soon everything would change as the rebirth of rock and roll was approaching and it would be the music that would mark the next decade, the 90s.

Although this album is from 1987 and a friend of the gang, an unconditional fan of the hard rock of the time, already had it at his house, I did not pay real attention to it until the year 90, when I bought it (until now there have been sold more than 35 million copies). One of those albums that you play over and over again without getting tired of listening to it with legendary songs like Paradise City, Sweet Child O' Mine or Welcome To The Jungle. I'm sure they are also @thebighigg's favorites 😜.

If I have any special memory of this album, it is without a doubt a place that I frequented back in 1990 in Marbella, the Casa Lola, an incredible three-story place where you could listen to new and old school rock and roll, decorated with posters, comics and stickers of the "Garbage Gang", where there was also no shortage of fans who even dressed and got tattoos like Axl Rose. There, in Marbella, was where I began to immerse myself in the new hard rock and metal bands that would shape the musical style of the coming years, we talked about Pearl Jam, Janes Addiction, Pixies, Sonic Youth and many others.

The 90s were the end of vinyl, almost everything was Compact Disc although there would still be a few years in which both formats coexisted in bars and clubs, but at that time, the medium that was really sweeping was cassette tapes since they were recordable and could be listened to in the car. By the end of the 90s, both tapes and vinyl had become an anachronism and CDs and computers along with the .mp3 format would change everything.

ya tenía ganas de enseñaros este vinilo, y es que Appetite For Destruction de Guns N' Roses es probablemente uno de esos álbumes que marcaron una generación, aun faltaban 3 años para la explosión del grunge pero el hard rock volvía con fuerza a finales de 80 con Nirvana, Mudhoney, Black Crowes, Metallica o Red Hot Chilli Peppers entre muchos otros.

Yo personalmente en aquellos años, finales de los 80, aún disfrutaba más del sonido electrónico del EBM o Acid House pero pronto todo cambiaría ya que se avecinaba el renacer del rock and roll y sería la música que marcaría la siguiente decada, los años 90.

Aunque este álbum es del año 1987 y ya lo tenía en su casa un amigo de la pandilla, fan incondicional del hard rock de la época, yo no le presté verdadera atención hasta el año 90 que fue cuando lo compré (hasta el momento se han vendido más de 35 millones de copias). Uno de esos discos que pones una y otra vez sin cansarte de escucharlo con temas míticos como Paradise City, Sweet Child O' Mine o Welcome To The Jungle. Seguro que también son favoritos de @thebighigg 😜.

Si tengo algún recuerdo especial de este disco es sin duda un local que frecuentaba allá por 1990 en Marbella, el Casa Lola, un increíble local de tres plantas donde podías escuchar rock and roll de la nueva y vieja escuela, decorado con posters, comics y cromos de la "Pandilla Basura", donde tampoco faltaban fans que incluso vestían y se tatuaban como Axl Rose. Allí, en Marbella, fue donde empecé a empaparme de las nuevas bandas de hard rock y metal que conformarían el estilo musical de los años venideros, hablamos de Pearl Jam, Janes Addiction, Pixies, Sonic Youth y muchos otros.

Los años 90 fueron el fin del vinilo, ya casi todo era Compact Disc aunque aún pasarían algunos años en los que ambos formatos convivían en bares y discotecas, pero en esa época, el medio que de verdad arrasaba, eran las cintas de cassette ya que eran grabables y se podían escuchar en el coche. A finales de los 90 tanto cintas como vinilos se habían convertido en un anacronismo y el CD y los ordenadores junto con el formato .mp3 lo cambiarían todo.
