The FA Cup regains excitement after Watford's win - From the memory

The FA Cup is no longer the same as it was once dominated by the Premier League and Champions League, and preceded it on the list of priorities of English clubs.

But Watford's spectacular comeback and a 3-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers after extra time at Wembley last night was a sign that the FA Cup can still give the fans fun and excitement at least in the leading roles.

One of the things that helped this was that the two teams were moving out of danger in the league competition, they had no relegation problem but were vying for a place in the Europa League next season. But this did not prompt the coaches of the two teams to strengthen their squads and try to make up for weaknesses.

This is really an FA Cup problem because many teams treat the competition as an opportunity to get non-essential players into the games.

Yesterday's match between the two teams was a true example of two close-knit teams who have had a good season and will be happy to win a tournament and ready to do their utmost to win. This is unfortunately rare.
