RE: We are the leaders of tomorrow

Most teachers get paid shit, eat shit for lunch and get shit from parents after getting stepped on by explosive kids and going through mind fields every day. Complicated with Corona and infections in the school and a teacher's job is a headache... but that has little to do with the importance of higher education.

Personally I think secondary education is basically crap. Very little "knowledge" is passed down from teachers or books to students compared to "knowledge" passed down by friends or other sources. Simply put "education is not about knowledge" and it never should have been. The word "education" means trained or raised. It's funny. The word comes from ēducātiō which also means "breeding". It has nothing to do with knowledge... maybe a little to do with understanding. I have seen too many textbooks to know that they are drenched in propaganda.

Teachers either work for the government or a private institution or person. They are basically subject to what that institution or government or person requires. They don't go around imparting knowledge to young people. Their job is to make an environment for learning. In many cases the education system that should be supporting that environment just makes it more difficult for the teacher and the students. A lot of our school system's inability to operate at the moment is due to presidential candidates afraid that students will spread covid in the schools. They don't care about rearing children. They want a big show. So they cut the little things and they give a free lunch, free vaccines, free tuition and any other showy thing at the expensive of basic needs of students.

And as for Albert Einstein... I think he only spent like two years teaching and that was in Berlin. He occasionally lectured, but most of his contributions came in the form of writings and collaborations. There is a big gap between teaching and intellectual advancement. The best thing a teacher can do is get out of the way and allow students to think, play, write, sing and dance until students learn things about themselves and others. It's useless if kids can solve some math problems and recall information if they are all assholes when they grow up.

Higher education facilities accept students with higher test scores. Those scores mostly prove the student paid for private tutoring and test preparation. It doesn't mean the student actually learned anything. Post secondary education fees increase much higher than the cost of living but I don't see that going to encourage professors to learn to teach. I was one of the lucky ones. My professor was at the top of his field and had studied with Nobel Laureates. But if I learned anything from him and his life it's that the field is bull shit and politics. The best thing I learned was to leave. That's why I'm teaching little kids half way around the world.

Even all that is not free. They use the money of citizens from taxes. In fact authorities don't have any money. All the money they have is what's given by us. So, in the end we pay for all that. Mostly for things we didn't even ask about. That's why they don't use more money in education, but in other things more beneficial to them. But I'm sure they could pay well to teacher if they cared that much about the education of citizens. It's not even that good for them to have smart citizens. It's better for them to make us lose our time and then become a force of work. You can read what I wrote about this topic here : The best education is what's applied in life!.

You're right @clixmoney , they don't care if we're educated or not, they just need us working in the paths they actually need us to. It's a game, a game they play well and almost always win. Our eyes are being open and they don't like it, they'll do anything possible to ensure we remain ignorant..I'll check out your post now ❤️✅

It can only be best explained from a teacher's perspective and that's what you just did, you told us how it is. My mom is a nursery school teacher so I know some of what you're talking about. Most times she tries her best to give the child something to hang on to but then the management and the parents makes life a lot more difficulty. One day she came in so frustrated and downcasted after a parent had had a heat with her regarding why she made the child eat his food finish. Apparently, the parent was already used to her child bringing home a half touched food. Worse was when the management stepped in. It was a big issue and then she got to receive unexpected talks and all.
I looked at her and felt so much pity, I couldn't feel her pain but it was already boldly written all over her face. I took my hand and placed it on her cheeks and told her to smile, then i gave her a warm hug.

We're in a damaged system and entering the higher institution made me fully realize that. It's all politics and manipulation. We're robots being shaped for their biddings I'm tired , I wish I could just walk away like you did, but its only a matter of time.

Thanks a lot for your amazing comment, made me realize how long it's been since we've really interacted. Thank you @mineopoly ❤️✅

That's mostly my fault. I have been kind of brainless on autopilot because of life events. I spent all the online time on my own posts and didn't venture out much. So it was said I made three comments on other people's vyb posts last week. Hahahaha. It happens. That's better than zero.

I know how your mom feels. My kids look at me sometimes and say, "Oh, you had a bad day at school?" The big hug really helps.

I did walk away from the big leagues and I'm glad. I don't think I could last there very long any way. Teaching Elementary school is really suitable to me but still run into the root problems.

It's quite understandable, I've been guilty of that too, trying to get across to a lot of people I used to before. Felt like I was wandered off, now like a prodigal son I am back.

Yeah, it surely does!, Don't worry I hear teachers have a special place in heaven.

That's life, we can't run away from pretty much anything, we'll still have to face it head on.

Take good care of yourself
