First bike ride after long break

Unfortunately, I am not exactly sure of the distance, because my watch somehow stopped recording after about 3 miles, and it took me at least 10 minutes to notice it and restart a recording. The last 5 miles or so are the one seen in the cover picture. But it's good to be back for something a little bit more strenuous than just walking with the dogs. Over a little under one hour, and based on what's been recorded, I estimate the total distance around 11 miles. Not too bad for a first ride after a long break. I did go for a long road bike ride during my trip last month, but that was about it for the past couple of months. And road biking is so much easier than riding with this old and heavy mountain bike!

As for the ride itself, it was pretty nice. I mostly stayed on the local small streets, with very little traffic.

Then I found a bike lane, which is always nice, because it's even less traffic. Except near the end where I almost crashed into this little deer. It didn't even move at first, probably as surprised as I was. Then it slowly went back into the forest. I hope a car doesn't hit it, if it stays so close to the roads.

And finally I followed the sunset before heading back home, and adding a couple miles at higher speed to burn a few more calories.

It's a long week end here, with a nice sunny and cool weather in the forecast, so I'm planning to go for a couple more bike rides. I also hope I can try and go for a run as well, because I have a follow up appointment with the foot specialist next week, and if something's still bothering me with my ankle, I want to know so I can mention it.
Till then, keep Exhausting!
