My Actifit Report Card: December 14 2023

Hey Actifitters,

It's been like that most days this week, but once again yesterday, in spite of the mostly sunny weather, not much activity until later in the afternoon. Le Chat looked as though she was judging us because of it.

Kaia didn't care, she saw deer behind the yard fence and that's all that mattered!

Before the sunset, we started our long walk though, with as often a first stop behind the front yard.

Kaia was still looking for these deer.

Before she could find them, we went West to find the sunset.

It was getting a bit late, but still worth trying the views near the golf course.

The sky wasn't as clear as last time, a few clouds were enough to enhance the colors.

Once again, after the sunset, we headed to the forest before it got too dark. A first stop to check the leaves on our tree friend. Still there...

We still had daylight when we entered the forest.

The golden hour light was gone of course, but there was a purple-ish atmosphere all around.

Not so easy to capture on photos, but on this one, even Kaia looked purple!

We reached the area with all the fallen trees from the storms a few months ago. It seems the city staff brought back the machines and resumed work, mostly mulching the broken trees and branches. They were really quick to start the clean up after the storms, but as soon as the obstacles were all off the trails, they left it as is until now. I guess they're done with other work and maybe trying to finish this before year end.

They'll probably use all the resulting mulch to cover the trails. Like I mentioned in the past, that works great to avoid the trails getting flooded. But I find it too soft to walk on, too spongy.

A few more detours in the neighborhood to add some distance and we were done for the day. That was a very clear night sky.

Finally getting a little consistency in my step counts. Unlike most people, winter is always more active for us. But we're still waiting for real snow. The few dustings we had so far were really not enough! Hopefully soon.
