My Actifit Report Card: August 28 2023
Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday weather was even better than the previous day: sunny with no clouds, and not hot!
So, during the work day, I spent every minutes I could in the yard with the furry clowns. Kaia was still hurting but she tried to show she was still the guardian of the yard!
Unless she was yawning...
Le Chat was just observing, probably thinking Kaia was even crazier than she thought.
She just decided to ignore us and groom herself. That's what cats do.
Kaia seemed a bit better but I thought I would let her rest some more and went for a run. Not a great performance as I had to walk a bit, but that's a second run in a row and 5 more miles done. After that, as it was getting dark, we tried a walk with Kaia.
Unfortunately just a few minutes in, she was limping so bad I decided to stop it right there. It felt very weird but after dropping her back in the yard, I went for a short walk in the neighborhood by myself. Nice way to cool down after my run, and good time to snap another Moon shot!
And that was it for the day. Very low step count again because like I explained, the steps during the run aren't counted. I'll have to do much better in the coming days.

Thanks! Always like sharing photos of the furry family! Unfortunately, the news weren't too good for Kaia at the vet today. It seems like a serious injury to her back knee, and the best option is probably surgery. I am giving myself a couple days to decide, but I'm pretty sure I will go ahead and schedule the surgery asap. In that case, that would mean no walks for many weeks...

Thanks! That wasn't good news indeed, but kind of expected the way she was struggling the last couple of days. Not really sure, it was probably a progressive injury, she's been limping on and off for a while now, and probably sometimes over the week end, she completely tore it. Maybe too much walking over the week end, or one too many chase with deer, or simply jumping on the bed...

The weather was quite good most of the week. The heat should be back for this long week end though, but hopefully this is the last big one for this year. Oh yeah, Kaia still wags her tail all the time, but no more walks for now. And a third run tonight, yay!!
