My Actifit Report Card: August 12 2023
Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday was a pretty decent day weather wise, some sun, and not too hot, although way warmer than I like. Because Kaia still limps sometimes, I decided to follow the vet's advice and split our long walk into shorter walks. We started with an afternoon walk to the forest.
Of course Kaia went exploring off-leash.
We could not be in the forest and not check the clean up progress.
Kaia couldn't resist climbing on top of one the wood chips pile. I remember Genepi used to do the same.
We kept the walk shorter than usual, but we visited a few of the trails before walking back home.
For our second walk, we went for another easy walk to the golf course for the sunset. I have to remember the days are already getting shorter and we need to be out the door by 8pm if we want to catch the whole sunset. The colors are always great though.
On the way back, we met plenty of deer as often.
These two were funny when they noticed us exactly at the same time.
We also met another neighborhood cat that looks exactly like Le Chat, or at least I see a very strong resemblance. I always wonder if they could be siblings.

As for Alive Chat, thanks for the offer, but I don't think I can commit to a regular participation. My hours are very changing, unlike my laziness that never changes !lolz So I cannot guarantee I would be able to spend enough time monitoring the chat. Maybe in the future, but not right now at least. Thanks again though.

Thanks! Right now, the official sunset time is around 8:30pm, but it starts a bit earlier behind the trees at the golf course. We still get daylight till around 9pm or so though. Closer to the solstice, we can get daylight till after 10pm. But I think it was decided to get rid of daylight savings, so not sure what happens next year.
No real changes for Kaia, but I'm still hopeful. I'd like to avoid pumping her with anti-inflammatory meds, at least not until she's much older. She can still chase all these deer !lolz

Thanks! Yeah, I liked that mushroom too! Yes, while cleaning up the trails, they're shredding (not sure that's the most accurate word) the trees that came down, and I guess they will cover all the trails with the resulting mulch, like they did in other parts of the forest. Not sure I like it, it's a bit too soft to walk on, but at least it prevents the trails from flooding.

Kind of yeah. Of course, you don't really sink in because it's only a few inches thick layer, but just very soft. I wonder how it will be with snow and ice, I guess we'll see this winter!
