My Actifit Report Card: July 31 2023
Hey Actifitters,
It really seems that some higher forces don't want me to work! After the power outage from last week, my internet connection went down yesterday. Since I work from home, and the computers I use are mostly virtual machines somewhere in a magical cloud, I can't do much without internet! So I spent more time in the yard, with Le Chat first. She can go from lazy to crazy in a split second!
Kaia was observing patiently.
Until she couldn't take it and had to join the fun!
But it was soon time for our long walk of the day. When we started, the sun was very bright and although still high in the sky, it was like a sunset before the sunset. Good thing we caught it, because this is the last we saw of the sun that day.
It was apparently a great day for deer, they were even more all over the place than usual. We met these two just after we started. And many more later.
The forest is still closed but we just made a quick tour. Just enough time for Kaia to run off-leash and for me to get bitten by mosquitoes!
To exit the forest, we went under the tape and Kaia was like "Can we do that?"...
Since I hadn't been very active so far that day, I decided to go on a long loop around the extended neighborhood. Perfect day for that, no internet, not too hot, and still some time before nightfall. I like how quiet it is, with very little traffic, especially around that time.
And more deer! Three or four big bucks!
This one was having dinner when he sensed us. He became defiant and looked at us like: " You'd better keep going..." (yeah, not sure why today I make animals talk...)
We then arrived in this block where it's normally even quieter than the rest of the neighborhood.
But this time, this older lady I never met before called all the way from her porch. She wanted to meet Kaia and also clearly wanted to talk! She told me it was her birthday the next day and many other random things. I usually like the solitude of our walks with Kaia, but she was really nice. We did have to leave though because a few clouds were becoming menacing and I didn't want to get rained on.
And that was almost it for the day's activities. A bit later, I saw the Moon through the trees. It was too beautiful, we had to walk to a better viewpoint, and I also can't help but sharing a couple more photos. Just one more day before it's officially full.

LeChat and Kaia moments -- love them! These two are adorable. LOL! Thank you for sharing fun photos of the two. Hope your Internet is back by now. I had to deal with three weeks without the regular line and spent more for the alternative. :P In the end, we got a new provider instead. :P What a nice neighborhood you have there. Thanks! Yeah Le Chat and Kaia are fun! Probably more moments in my next report, as we spent quite some time in the yard again today. I kind of regret we couldn't do that as much when Genepi was still with us.
Wow 3 weeks, that's a pain! Still no internet but a technician is supposed to show up tomorrow. It should be an easy fix because it stopped working after the last tech repaired the damaged lines in the street. !lolz At least I figured out I can use the wifi Hotspot on my company phone, so I can work a bit at least.
We do like our quiet neighborhood!

To be fair, I really don't need much convincing !lolz
The forest is still cordoned off because of all the trees that went down during the storm. They are cleaning up the mess (I went to check it out this afternoon, photos in my report tomorrow) and I guess they want to avoid anybody getting injured, or most likely any liability.

Yeah I agree. But you know how it is in the US. Official entities can get sued for anything and everything. So cities, especially small ones, try to avoid it as much as possible. It's silly really, because that tape does not stop anybody, but I guess that legally covers them. Not even sure.
