My Actifit Report Card: July 28 2023

Hey Actifitters,

We still didn't have power yesterday morning. So once again I couldn't do much for work, except attending a couple of meetings on my phone. So instead we went for a walk with Kaia. The clean up in the neighborhood after the storm is making progress. But the loud chainsaws and generators can still be heard everywhere.

We also checked out the damages in the yard.

I didn't notice before, but it's a mess above my garage. Sure there is damage to its roof.

It got really hot and humid, so we stayed mostly indoors. Even without A/C, it's still better than outside. But we did take several short breaks in the yard.

Late afternoon, in spite of what their app was saying, I was losing hope the power company would be able to restore the power soon and I was still trying to use my solar chargers on the deck outside. I got back in the house and suddenly there was light! Everything came back up, even internet which was surprising with all the poles and wires down in the street. I immediately started charging all my electronics and power banks, just in case!

Even though it was still hot and humid, I decided to go for another walk. We now had A/C, so we could handle it! Just as we started, we met these cute deer near a fallen tree.

But we didn't want to miss the sunset. In spite of the clouds (or maybe because of them), it was great, with lots of reflections.

I often like to add these trees in the forefront of my sunset photos.

And to close the day, we caught the Moon rising, and that was the end of it.

Two days without power sounds like nothing, but it's really no fun. Now I need to try and salvage all the food from the freezers and fridge. Kaia was happy about that, she got to eat some good turkey and sausages!
