My Actifit Report Card: July 26 2023
Hey Actifitters,
Like I mentioned in my previous report, we lost power yesterday afternoon. But before that, we didn't expect the storm would be that bad and we were having fun in the yard.
I was playing with Le Chat.
And this time Kaia got jealous and wanted to join.
So Le Chat said: "I'm not talking to this big dog anymore..."
Kaia didn't need words to respond!
An hour later I had just started a meeting when everything went black. No power, no internet, nothing! I went in the yard to check, it was pouring heavy rain, and the wind already broke several big branches.
Nothing else to do than just wait for now. Later when the rain slowed down, deer arrived. They were the only one happy with the fallen trees. Easier to eat!
Even later, the rain stopped for a little bit, we immediately went for a walk to check out the neighborhood. It was very impressive, so many trees down, big branches everywhere...
Just branches lining both sides of the street everywhere!
The night sky behind the crews hard at work was beautiful though.

Yeah, it was pretty severe. I kept hearing it might be, but somehow never paid attention until it actually hit! Very localized and quite short, but lots of tree damages. Between the ice storm, the freezing rain and wet snow episodes and now this storm, I'm surprised we still have trees standing!

Looking at the photos tells that the storm was huge, I hope the damages are not severe. I love the photo of the dog and cat together, and the other nature photos. Best wishes.
Thanks! Yeah, it was pretty bad. From what I saw and heard, lots of people were out of power for at least a couple days, but I didn't see any destroyed houses. Maybe some damaged roofs, hopefully easily fixed. It could have been much worse!

Was it a tornado or just a very bad storm? 10 years ago I planted a Floss Silk tree in my daughter's yard, this year a windstorm blew it down but she got it braced back up and it seems to be doing well. I hope your power comes back on soon.
Not a tornado, just a freak storm. Not very large, but it moved very quickly through several cities, with lots of down trees on its wake.

Yeah, many trees were knocked down. Fortunately, except for a few damaged roofs and of course the power outages, it was only trees. Power has been restored and everything is back to normal now, thanks!
