My Actifit Report Card: July 21 2023
Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday started like most Fridays with a morning meeting. But for once I had some time after that, so before the weather heated up, we went for a walk to the forest with Kaia.
When we got there, this group of deer fled, but this one decided he didn't care. Good thing Kaia was still on leash.
Sun and mild temperature, that was just great to walk the trails at that time.
Kaia burnt plenty of energy running around off-leash.
But she found a quiet place to rest in the shade.
That didn't last long and we were back on the move shortly.
Kaia was disappointed but we had to get back home, it was a work day after all.
It was heating up anyways, so I prefer to stay indoors when it gets too hot.
Much later in the day, after one last afternoon meeting, we went for another walk. It was a bit late for the sunset, but as often we went to admire the colors in the sky.
I can never get tired of that view.
And that was the end of the day already. The Moon is back, it will soon light up the nights.

I do believe that deer was throwing out a challenge. Just look at the expression on his face!

It's very possible he was. He looked at his friends leaving but just stayed there. He did leave eventually, but only after we were already leaving ourselves. Yeah, the mushrooms are just everywhere, the weather is good for them this year.

These days we see at least a dozen deer every walks, even if we don't go to the forest, it's just crazy! Usually most of them don't have antlers, but this time, the whole group (they were 5 or 6) had big antlers. Big boys meeting apparently!

That's impressive my friend, we used to have large herds of deer like that, and then one year the cougars wiped them out..... They are slowly coming back!😀

They don't have predators at all here, in the middle of the suburbs. Cities are actually looking at humane ways to reduce their population.
Down closer to the city, it’s the same as where you are, the predators don’t come down that far so the deer population continues to expand !
I’m just thankful to see a few deer coming back in the foothills of the mountains !😇😊
