My Actifit Report Card: February 12 2023
Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday, for our walk with Kaia, I really wanted to go somewhere else than our usual forest. So when a friend said she also wanted to go for a walk and enjoy the sunny weather, that was the perfect opportunity. We decided to go to Stoney Creek metropark, with an easy 6+ miles loop around the lake.
We went there many times in the past, but I never really noticed this gazebo. With the sun aligning, it was really standing out.
Kaia of course had to go through the usual photoshoot. She wasn't very cooperative though and refused to keep her ears up. At least, she stayed somewhat still on that picnic table.
We started a bit late in the afternoon and we were getting worried about missing the sunset.
But we were lucky, and through a gap in the trees, we could see the sun just before it disappeared.
We were barely half way though, so to finish the loop before it got too dark, we had to pick up the pace a bit.
I couldn't pass on some more photos though.

And finally got back near our starting point where it would have been perfect for the sunset about 30 minutes earlier. Still a bit of colors left though.
That week end was really cool. No snow, but very sunny and chilly, perfect for long walks. Like I said yesterday, we just need snow, and the same weather, and it will be just perfect!

You managed to enjoy some of the sunset in spite of the time and not being in the exact place where you would have liked to catch it.
Definitely the views with the gazebo in the background are spectacular, it offers a beautiful panoramic view. The shape of the stream also has its charm.
Taking a different stroll helps us to clear our heads, sometimes even relaxing moments turn into something routine and it is good to get out of it.
Hey, thanks for stopping by! Absolutely, as much as we enjoy our little forest, the change of scenery was really welcome here. Most days I don't want to drive somewhere just to walk the dog but it opens up many other great outdoor locations.

Thanks! Yes, it's a very nice park, and just a few minutes from my friend's place. We go there a few times a year, but probably we should do that more often. I understand the appeal of the open spaces, it's very nice here that just a short drive gets you to this kind of parks. I just don't want to drive every day though.

@manuvert, in looking at your photos again, the thought came to my mind that you should perhaps enter some photo contests, or post your photos in some photography communities (or both).
