Writing a horror script without falling into the temptation of creating scenes similar to the classics is quite complicated. As for generating fear, you really have to know how psychology applied to filmmaking can be convincing.
Too bad it didn't meet your expectations, but maybe I'm just getting old, because the trailer did scare me.

I've come to realize that trailers, especially for horror films, are usually a compilation of just the most intriguing parts with gripping soundtracks. I was moved by this particular trailer too initially.
