D’Tigress Qualify for Women’s Basketball World Cup

The Nigeria's senior women's basketball team,called D'tigress are through to the 2022 FIBA women's basketball world cup in Sydney, Australia.They did well enough to secure Thier qualification after defeating Senegal 73:63 at the just concluded Palais polyvalent des sport in Yauonde,which also gave them an entrance into the final of the FIBA AfroBasket Women's tournament.

In the end ,it was a hard fought match that sincerely show that strength of both teams and the team managed by Otis Hughley was just too hard and tough for their African counterpart,just as they did in the game against Ivory Coast,the Nigeria ladies won all the quarters except for the fourth set in which they lost by 19:13 to a very strong and well physical Senegalese national basketball women team

Amy Okonkwo from the bench led the scoring with just sixteen point in 17 minute's of action,while ify ibekewe added 14 point just as Adaora Elonu made it 12 point too, Victoria. Macaulay and Okonkwo led team on rebound with seven.While Name -marie sy-Diop was the highest point maker of the day in that encounter coming out with 18 Point in total

During the post match talk, Otis Hughley said that the tournament get tougher every year too and the next is going to be more tougher due to the fact that strong teams are always the target and that's is what will happen too in the next match and that is what as makes them to always prepare well enough each time before the game and even during each game.

Also stated that everything looks more better than the previous year too ,when it comes to the facilities user this year,interns of the filed,the talents they have come up against, everything looks much more better and it has indeed makes the tournament a very big one that each team's need to come well prepared all the time

Okonkwo also who came off from the bench express her happiness when asked how she came off and played with such a great confidence,she responded by saying team work and spirit those the job most times and aside that ,the lads has been with each other since May with even the most experienced ones among them and this also has indeed increase the level of constitence in her

The love in the team also has in one way or the other added to thier performance and even aside that all the players have been working hard in the court to be a better player and this as indeed show and pay off via their performance in the tournament so far

She later said that the sisterhood and the togetherness is one thing that as indeed make her to want to play better and make sure she does all within her power when she steps into the court to Play.

Nigeria later went ahead to defeat Mali on final day making them African champions with a world cup ticket too at hand for both team, Nigeria beat the Malian 70:59 in what I called a total white washing I that encounter, with the indomitable loin of Cameroon ladies also claiming the third world cup ticket too in the tournament.
