Splinterlands 6 Year Anniversary! - My Splinterlands Story
Happy 6 Years Anniversarry Splinterlands!
Out of all the NFT games I've played, Splinterlands is the only one I still play. I've tried Axie Infinity, Dragonary, and other popular games, some of which are now defunct or have become too tedious to play.
Most NFT games not only have reduced income but are also boring to play due to repetitive gameplay that requires little thought or strategy.
I'll admit, Splinterlands has significantly dropped in price value. I used to earn a good amount each month, but now, to be honest, I'm lucky to break even with what I earn.
Despite this, I haven't stopped playing this NFT game. There were times I got tired of playing it, but sometimes I just really miss the game.
I'm happy when I break even because I genuinely enjoy playing the game.
Game Discovery
When NFT games became popular, I was actively looking for new games to play. I accidentally discovered this game while searching online. I read about it in a blog or post—I can't remember if it was on Quora or Reddit. I was pleased with the game's system because I proved it was profitable back then.
Duration of Participation
I started playing Splinterlands in 2021, but now I only use my account "lolodens," which I signed up for in 2022 and still play. Just a little while ago, I logged into the game because I played brawl and modern battle. I took a break and decided to create content for the 6th anniversary of Splinterlands.
Time Spent on Playing
I don't play every day because energy refills are expensive. I only rent cards for two days, and when my energy is drained, I wait for it to refill before renting again. Once I start playing, I spend several hours until I run out of energy. The next day, I play again once my energy is replenished. I try to make the most of my rent, so I'm active in playing.
Accomplishments
Thanks to Splinterlands, I monetized my YouTube channel in less than a month because Splinterlands was popular at the time, and many were looking for NFT games. Sad to say, but I deleted all my Splinterlands content because I changed the niche of my YouTube channel, and I no longer had any new content to post.
I also created a Facebook group about Splinterlands, which reached 10K members, and a group chat where players actively trade cards and tokens.
In the community I built, we also exchange tips and tricks on which cards are good for battles.
In terms of earnings, I made a lot from Splinterlands when it was still hyped, and P2P trading was active. I also enjoyed buying packs for the chance to get expensive cards to sell.
I've recouped all my investment in Splinterlands, and now I have few cards left that I just leave there without selling.
Upcoming Goals
For now, I'll just continue playing Splinterlands. My goal in early May was to reach Champion Level, but it turns out to be difficult. I'm still in Silver, but that's okay—I'll keep playing and discovering new strategies for which cards are good to rent.
Advice for Beginners
If you're new to this game, my advice is to join a guild immediately. It helps a lot in accumulating SPS, which you need to stake to increase your earn rate per battle. You can't earn without staking SPS.
You should also learn which cards to rent to increase your win rate in battles.
Make it a habit to check your opponent's previous battles as it helps significantly in winning.
To the Developers
First of all, thank you for keeping Splinterlands alive. I know maintaining the game despite the crypto market crash is no easy task.
Suggestions
I hope there is a forum where players can submit their opinions on changes they think would benefit Splinterlands. I believe many Splinterlands accounts are now inactive because they see no monetary value in it. Maybe some great ideas can come up to reactivate those dormant accounts.
