How to make casssava flakes
Today I want to explain how make casssava flakes, which is known as garit in Nigeria.Gari is a starchy food we get from casssava, gari is very high in carbohydrates.it is very good for solid food like, eba and also good for drinking, with chill water with groundnut or meat or beans.
How to make it
After harvesting the casssava from the farm, they will peel it, wash it and take it to engine to grind it,after that we are going to pack it inside sack, and then take it to the jack,to squeeze the water out ,then we will leave it there for two or three days,in order to sour very well, when you bring it out all the water in it would have come out,we are going to use woven flat sieve, then we will sieve it as it is shown in the picture,
then we will bring it to fire where we fry it in a flat big pot, either with broom or wooden serving spoon,
after frying it you bring it out to dry on a flat surface, then we sieve again to get smooth cassava flakes,I love to drink it with chill water because it helps to regain energy after some streanous work or when you are hydrate, gari can be used to dehydrate but some people prefer to eat it solid(eba)with stew
