Through the Keyhole and around - my entry today to the #monomad daily contest by @monochromes
Did you see it?
Yes, that marvel of the art of architecture that could be seen through this beautiful old keyhole is indeed the Michelangelo’s Dome of the Vatican City.
It is a beautiful door, as you could see but walking around the lovely piazza where this hidden gem is, so many other nice views could be enjoyed.
I could tell you for sure, the walk in this stunning part of Rome is something I won't forget and those black and white photographs I am sharing with you today and complimentary to that awesome experience.
You probably know by now how much I love Black & White or sometimes referred as Monochromatic photography. I have always believed that while Color Photography shows the external part of our world, Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything. Rome is a magical secret, and I think your first photo of the Knights of Malta Keyhole illustrates my perception in the best way.
You can see something through the keyhole. It is something very beautiful. A famous historical landmark. But you will never get to the secrets of the things you see through the lock. They are unattainable.
That is why Rome is so desired by all. It is a mystery that will never be solved. That's why I understand your feelings. They're pretty inexplicable, aren't they? 😊
