We have to start by sending Christian Erikson our heartfelt best wishes for a speedy recovery. I don't think anyone could not have been shocked and saddened by the awful scenes from last nights game between Denmark and Finland. Massive respect to all the players, fans and officials at the game for dealing with everything in such a professional and humane way.

Anyway, Belgium won easily and bloody Lukaku sent me directly to transfer hell! On a more positive note (from my perspective at least! after scanning the entrants up and down, rather surprisingly, no one got the correct score! All you 2-0 folks, @ervin-lemark, I'm looking at you! must have thought they were in the money until Lukaku popped in his second in the 88th minute. Ahh, football is a fickle old game!

As I mentioned yesterday, at the top of the FIFA rankings, it would be a brave person to back against Belgium winning the whole tournament. They won this game at a canter and that's without de Bruyne and with Eden Hazard starting on the bench.

If they do win, it is rumoured that @fullcoverbetting and @pele23 will be sending everyone a crate of Duvel. How can you not love a country that is famed worldwide for beer and chocolate?

All but two players (@friendlymoose, Mertens? The Netherlands are struggling with injury worries a little. Their big, Juventus central defender, Matthis de Lig injured himself in training and missed their last friendly against Georgia. There are some talented players in their squad but don't seem to have the big name, stand out players they did in the past.

The Netherlands always do well in the Euros, and I am sure will easily make the knock-out stages but in these cautious and nervy opening games might struggle to hold back a fearless and free-flowing Ukraine side which I just found out is currently managed by Andriy Shevchenko.

The Small Print

In the first goalscorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition will roll over if there is no winner. If more than one person chooses the same first goalscorer or correct score, the prize is shared and everyone gets a little upvote! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget the new rule that only people with a rep of 45 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved. The bonus will be added to any winnings ONLY if Leeds United win and/or Man U lose and all payouts will never exceed 50% of post payout. Other bonuses paid out at my discretion.
