What does diversification really mean to you? (many are getting it wrong) | ENG-ESP | ¿Qué significa realmente la diversificación para usted? (muchos lo entienden mal)

It's a common occurrence to see so many people using the term diversify and it is mostly in the wrong context. We have always misinterpreted this word and although it makes sense in writing but in practice, it's not so correct. Firstly the reason for diversification is to hedge risk and also make a profit by spreading our tentacles in different projects.

Es habitual ver cómo mucha gente utiliza el término diversificar y la mayoría de las veces lo hace en un contexto equivocado. Siempre hemos interpretado mal esta palabra y, aunque tiene sentido por escrito, en la práctica no es tan correcta. En primer lugar, la razón de la diversificación es cubrir el riesgo y también obtener beneficios extendiendo nuestros tentáculos en diferentes proyectos.

According to the oxford dictionary, diversification is the process of a business enlarging or varying its range of products or field of operation. so enterprises and individuals could diversify their risk by putting their money in different projects of separate entity or category or sector. To make myself much clearer, I see diversification as investing in the agricultural sector and manufacturing sector.

Según el diccionario de oxford, la diversificación es el proceso por el que una empresa amplía o varía su gama de productos o su campo de operaciones. así, las empresas y los particulares podrían diversificar su riesgo poniendo su dinero en diferentes proyectos de distinta entidad o categoría o sector. Para ser más claro, considero que la diversificación consiste en invertir en el sector agrícola y en el sector manufacturero.

Although that's the way I see diversification and it is my opinion but we see things differently. I have always been hell-bent that I was diversifying my risk right by investing in different blockchain projects such as CUB, CAKE, HIVE, JULD and a whole lot of other blockchain projects but I was wrong and the reason is that all these investments are been housed under one sector (Cryptocurrency).

Aunque esa es la forma en que veo la diversificación y es mi opinión, pero vemos las cosas de forma diferente. Siempre he estado empeñado en que estaba diversificando bien mi riesgo invirtiendo en diferentes proyectos de blockchain como CUB, CAKE, HIVE, JULD y un montón de otros proyectos de blockchain pero estaba equivocado y la razón es que todas estas inversiones se han alojado bajo un mismo sector (Criptodivisas).

It may seem wrong to you but in practice, diversifying risks should look like investing in Real estate, buying shares of companies, buying and holding Cryptocurrencies and of course, having an offline business of your own. I believe this way, it may truly be hard for an individual to lose out in all scenarios as factors that affect one of the sectors won't affect the other.

Puede parecerte un error pero en la práctica, diversificar los riesgos debería parecerse a invertir en el sector inmobiliario, comprar acciones de empresas, comprar y mantener Cryptocurrencies y por supuesto, tener un negocio propio fuera de la red. Creo que de esta manera, puede ser realmente difícil que un individuo pierda en todos los escenarios ya que los factores que afectan a uno de los sectores no afectarán al otro.

Unlike holding all investment in cryptocurrencies and the sector is been hit which in turn leads to a crash, that will lead to massive loose and one might be picking up the spoils for a very long time. Another example is purely focusing on agriculture and a certain virus attacks all plantation across the country (this happened early last year in Nigeria as a certain new breed of virus destroyed crops/plantations all over the country, it lead to inflation in the value of this commodities).

A diferencia de la celebración de toda la inversión en cryptocurrencies y el sector ha sido golpeado que a su vez conduce a una caída, que dará lugar a la pérdida masiva y uno podría estar recogiendo los despojos por un tiempo muy largo. Otro ejemplo es centrarse puramente en la agricultura y que un determinado virus ataque todas las plantaciones del país (esto ocurrió a principios del año pasado en Nigeria cuando una nueva raza de virus destruyó los cultivos/plantaciones en todo el país, lo que llevó a la inflación en el valor de estos productos básicos).

The recent crash in the price of cryptocurrency made me rethink what diversification was this post was the only logical way I could reason it to be. I will personally advise anyone looking to diversify to start with creating and owning an offline business/trade. this way, daily income is guaranteed while also hedging risks.

El reciente desplome del precio de las criptomonedas me hizo replantearme lo que era la diversificación y este post fue la única forma lógica de razonarlo. Personalmente aconsejo a todo aquel que quiera diversificar que empiece por crear y poseer un negocio/comercio offline. de esta forma se garantizan los ingresos diarios a la vez que se cubren los riesgos.

A lot of offline business pays big and finding the right one which suits you could be the only challenge that could be encountered. learning a trade or selling something is a big way to start too.

Muchos negocios fuera de línea son muy rentables y encontrar el que se adapte a ti podría ser el único reto que se podría encontrar. aprender un oficio o vender algo es una gran manera de empezar también.
