Blame the players and not Lampard
Arsenal won a premiership match yesterday against a high flying Chelsea side. Arsenal winning came as a surprise to everyone due to the bad shape they have been in. The Gunners have struggled for form and it has brought about elimination talks for Arteta.
Before the match started, the Chelsea squad was full of high hopes as two of their first-team players reunited with the team after spending some time on the sideline. The duo of Chilwell and James started the game but failed to impress with their performance.
James was the first to commit an error by giving away a penalty kick to Arsenal with a silly foul. The resulting penalty was converted by Lacazzete to give the Gunners the lead. The second was also a dead-ball situation. Kante committed a needless foul just over 30 yards out to the goal.
Xhanka converted the resulting free-kick and from their on, the Chelsea squad look lost on the pitch. People will be quick to point to the Coach as the one to be blamed but they will be wrong in this regard.
A few blue players were not at their best game on the night and it affected the Chelsea game. Players such as James, Kante, warner, mount seems like aliens in the match and they seem lost.
The Chelsea side created few goal scoring opportunities against a gunner side that we're low on morale. The most annoying action of the night was Chelsea not pressing the gunners' side hard until Hodson-odion was introduced into the match.
That's the third loss in four games for the blues and more attention will be turned on the Coach to provide answers. More blames should be shifted to the players as against the coach as they are the ones failing the team.
A turnaround is expected in Chelsea's next match as they face high flying Aston Villa's side. They will be looking to return to winning ways.
