Teams of 3 - How to build more defi instead of cefi

Hello LBI'er's. Today we are going to quickly look into LBI teams and how they will help us build and grow LBI into a massive project with its hands in many pies. Having just uploaded a post 3 minutes ago from @lbi-gov, i can tell you now this will not be a long post but we will cover why i think teams are the way to go for LBI. By the way, please go and visit the lastest post from @lbi-gov, it is the launching post for Gov team nominations, anyways click on the account link if you are interested.

Moving onto today's subject of building up LBI with small teams that are each set up to perform certain tasks while also being accountable to the success of the overall project. I read a book about 15 years back, wrote by Richard Branson and the way he had set up Virgin companies. Basically, each of his companies run independently under the Virgin brand and no company will have more than 100 employees. The thinking is if 1 company fails, the rest are most affected by this. Interesting stuff and some of this model can be used toward a decentralized investment token project. Let me explain.

LBI when fully up and running will require an asset manager, content team, governance team, subsidiary project teams, gaming team, dev team, microblogging team, discord team are even a LEO witness team. We can really add as many as we have people willing to put in the work. Each team will work independently as part of a well-oiled machine but all focused on the common goal of growing LBI.

Teams of 3

Why 3? why not? they say 3 is the magic number.

Having small teams ensures that each person is directly responsible and accountable for certain tasks. Larger teams will, in general, be run by the most vocal 2-3 people as we are genetically built to follow, and being in a small team does not allow that.

Realistically, nothing we are doing or will be doing will require teams of more than 3 people.

Each team will run independently of each other and be accountable for that team's task. All transactions will need to be accounted for with the asset management actively performing weekly adits on all accounts falling under the LBI project. How teams allocate funds depending on whether they are an income-producing team are not will be decided by the actual team. Having small teams makes it harder for funds to go missing, maybe not harder but easier to find those who did the dirty.

In my mind, this is as decentralized as we can get. Each team doing its own thing as they best see fit, token holders having full governance and managed assets instead of some algorithm deciding our fate. If one team falls off are gets corrupted, their account keys are changed and the rest will remain untouched with the project continuing on.

Anyways something to think about, I've taken some inspiration from a book I read 15 years back and turn what was described as a centralized corporation into something about more defi friendly and updated for future.

Thank you for taking the time today to read this post. Please go and check out the latest post uploaded from @lbi-gov. As always, feedback and comments are welcomed below.

Is there a gaming section for LBI? If so, is it related to the current Dapps (Dcity, Splinterlands, etc) in HIVE?

I think 3 people is good. Usually having an odd number helps because you can get at least a majority opinion within the teams. So long as people nominate reliable people on the teams, I feel we are in good hands. As always, its always better to have multiple people discuss so you can get other people's view and to address any issues. I do suggest if one person abstains and it splits 1-1 that the decision should probably come to a community vote.

No gaming team yet. Governance team is more important so that's being sorted now with nominations now being accepted for volunteers. A gaming team will likely follow as it's good income and sooner and better than later. From my experience with SPI, I have a good grasp of what is the most profitable with the 2 your specified being on top. Gaming could also mean creating our own game, not saying that's gonna happen but we can always think outside the box. Gaming can be done through posts and interaction.

Thanks for checking out the post and leaving some feedback,

Insta-nominating @khazrakh for overseeing the Gaming Module, he literally breaths all the Hive gaming scene and a complete variety of other blockchains Play-To-Earn projects.

Creating a game is extremely resource intensive, if you can hear a guy with almost 25 years of professional life in online and offline gaming. Looking at the current projects and the new ways of monetizing and tokenomics, it makes more sense to influence in the best games as an entity, as it will generate passive income for the LBI group.

For example:
-Buying a Region in Splinterlands
-Buying a Planet in Alien Worlds
-Using and profiting from long-term hiring of facilities in Brewmaster
-Investing in early-stage Tchaikovsy and Bach in Rising Star
-Buying Castle in Gala Games Mirandus
-Mantaining a strong stock of max level gold Alpha cards from Splinterlands for hire

That kind of stuff.

Happy to discuss and give my take on this matters. Definitely Content and Key Holders not my thing ^_^

Thank you for the mention!
As far as I understand it, the goal is to get involved with goals that provide a good to great return like dCity and Splinterlands. I'm certainly all for that as that's what I'm doing a lot anyway, the question how scalable other games would be. The aforementioned would work pretty well I guess, everything else on Hive is probably to small in terms of return for a larger project.
Moving outside of Hive would be a probability of course, getting a plot of land in Alien Worlds for example, but I think this is something for a bit down the road when we explored everything on chain.

Nice strategy and well organized plan @silverstakceruk. I know this plan will definitely go a long way to promote LBI tokens provided all team hands are on deck to ensure the growth process turns out effective.

The step into decentralizing the LBI project is very commendable. With 10 people all together in the management team, it'll go a long way to ensuring balance. However, you would have done well to have given a brief description of terms of reference for all the roles outlined above.

Yes, I could have gone into more detail but I had said at the start of the post-it was a quick post as I had just finished writing another post for lbi-gov.

Why 3 ? Well 3 is better than 2 first :D
Sorry I had to.

I like the idea of creating a game and thinking outside of the box in general.
Even though first stepping stones would be easier to reach inside Hive and on existing projects.
Looking forward to see those teams getting built up.

The creating a game was just an example fo thinking outside the box, everyone does the same thing, why not do something different and make our own path.

Everyone seems to really looking forward to gaming.

That seems like a really great idea. As you said, I think it will allow the project to be even more successful if the small teams can just focus on the one thing they are responsible for. As long as they are communicating will with each other I think it is going to work out great. I have to check out that governance post now.

Little team's for different areas are the best what we can do for LBI.
This is a really smart idea!
And I think there will be enough members who want to go deeper.

Thank you for the feedback and checking out the post.

I hope you are correct, the problem is a lot of people step up and then they are not consistent and start to make excuses when the novelty wears off.

If one team falls off are gets corrupted, their account keys are changed and the rest will remain untouched with the project continuing on.

This seems like an excellent strategy to keep the project moving forward.

Okay 😀🤔 to be honest, I can help you with advertising to the Hispanic community so that they also get involved and see the LBI token as a good investment.

I can be good at that.

3 is a magic number - i think nikola tesla said something about the powers of 3-6-9

I love watching how this project is going - One of these days my situation will get better and I will be able to do more than watch from the sidelines.

Everybody keep kicking it's butt - I'll catch up eventually ;)

Yes, small teams gives everyone a role and then hopefully it's more likely to be done.

Thank you for checking out yesterday post and dropping some feedback.

I might be interested in joining the gaming team, depending on what is required there. I teach Games at University for my work, and I like developing them as a hobby :).

I've always believed teams are the best way to go, smaller teams make things look a lot more individual, while still working as a team. I'm not sure I completely understand what lbi is all about, but I would really love to know more.
