What Will the "New Normal" Looks Like?

Early this morning, I went out on the street to go to the bakery to buy some bread for breakfast. Just as I leave, a little further on, two police cars are parked in front of my neighbor's house.

I found the movement strange, and asked some people who had been in the place for some time, what had happened. They said that my neighbor had a psychotic break and started yelling at his wife and, furious, he broke some furniture in his house. His wife called the police as she feared he might assault her.

It's a serious situation.

As is known to us, this man lost his job during the pandemic and could no longer take the pressure of having so many expenses, without being able to pay them.

What happened to this man is perhaps something quite common and what has been happening in our recent history with all this issue related to the pandemic, lockdowns, etc.

Many people lost their jobs. Here in Brazil, many people simply don't have enough to eat on a daily basis. Without money for food, rent, many freak out, go into depression and acquire mental illness that will surely be one of our biggest problems in the future.

I pray and believe in God. I believe that God can give comfort and relief that so many who go through situations like this can overcome them in the best possible way.

When I think of that slogan: "New normal", it gives me great distress to witness all this.

Hopefully this "new normal" is not a "normal" where people suffer from not having food to feed their children, not having a job to support their families or having no money to pay their bills.

I want to think that a "new normal" is a time of peace, harmony, prosperity and balance for all of us.
