What's the Story (Music Themed 5-Minute Freewrite Challenge)

There's a measure of success towards British bands back in 1990s. It's not just about the Spice Girls' British invasion, but I think Oasis played a big part of British music scene during the decade. I think both Spice Girls and Oasis are the faces of British music scene back in 1990s. Both acts has extended their success globally.

Oasis started out with their album "Definitely Maybe", which a big multiplatinum hit in United Kingdom. Though, the album was a slowburner, and eventually achieved good sales. But it was through "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" which made them a bigger band and, at that time, reached their peak.

"(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" managed huge sales worldwide estimate of about 20 million, and was one of the all-time biggest sellers in UK. It's also their peak success in the US going multiplatinum, and the time they crossed the top 10 of the US Singles charts through "Wonderwall".

"Wonderwall" became a huge contribution to the success of the album. With its simple and beautiful melody, it's undoubtedly to become a hit then. The song, which peaked at number 2 in UK, is still among the biggest selling songs in the country despite failure to occupy number 1. Another song from the album "Don't Look Back in Anger" also became a hit, and the band's second UK number 1 album.
