Fanmail (Music Themed 5-Minute Freewrite Challenge)

When musical groups seems about to end, there's still a chance that they'll get back together. That became the case with TLC, as they has applied for bankruptcy even at the peak of success of their second album. Issues arise between them and the management as well as recording label for being paid allegedly less. Even friction arose between the groups. But it seems fans wanted them to get back together.

What the fans did gave birth to their album "Fanmail". It might not have matched their previous album's success, but it is considerably a very successful record as one of the biggest releases of 1999. That same year was also the height of pop stalwarts as Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, as well as Latin artists such as Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, and the likes are also dominating the charts.

Still, they managed to maintain their fame, and made them the top girl band at that time. Perhaps, they benefited from the Spice Girls hiatus after Geri's departure, though the Brits has also benefitted from the TLC hiatus that time. With the big hit "No Scrub", it sounds as if they took the throne for empowering women. Then there goes the second US number 1 hit from the album "Unpretty" talking about what's more important than physical appearance. That might be their last big hit as a group following Lisa Lopes passing away, yet TLC made a mark as one of the biggest girl groups ever.
