I was wondering what could be dangerous about a lizard when you said you were afraid. Then you explained
Scaly animals that remind you of snakes.
Last night, I was woken up by my neighbors because they found a snake crawling up one of our walls. I was fast asleep and the noise woke me up.
The neighbor with the machete was only able to cut the snake in half while the rest of the body escaped into the bushes.
As a child, I have heard stories that the bodies of snakes can come together even after being cut. I don't know how true but we always burn the parts to stop this from happening.
So while you saw your lizard. I saw a real snake.

Yes, snakes scare me more than anyone. And it's not even the bite, it's the body texture. lol
