A Sunset in Black and White

We are all used to seeing those spectacular orange, pink, yellow, red or blue sunsets, but I think that on very few occasions we have stopped for a few seconds to think what that landscape would look like in just two colors. Black and white is undoubtedly one of the most used color ranges throughout the history of photography, usually associated with old photos or portraits and artistic landscapes, but the truth is that at present it is not the first option when capturing an image and much less if it is a sunset.

In a certain way, high definition, bright colors and all the technological advances that the modern era gives us have put aside those the first colors that gave life to this immense world of photography, it is for that reason that I have decided on this opportunity to capture a beautiful and bright sunset using only these two elements. The result was a very brilliant image that demonstrates the beauty of nature but at the same time the greatness of Caracas architecture. In my opinion, when only these two tones are worked, the images obtained turn out to be deeper, they have their own story to tell, but at the same time they convey a certain nostalgia, without neglecting that they also manage to highlight the details of each structure captured in that taking.

Un Atardecer en Blanco y Negro

Todos estamos acostumbrados a ver esos espectaculares atardeceres naranjas, rosados, amarillos, rojos o azules, pero creo que en muy pocas ocasiones nos hemos detenido unos segundos para pensar cómo se vería ese paisaje en solo dos colores. El blanco y negro constituye sin duda alguna una de las gamas de colores más utilizadas a lo largo de la historia de la fotografía, normalmente suele asociarse con fotos antiguas o retratos y paisajes artísticos, pero lo cierto es que en la actualidad no constituye la primera opción al momento de capturar una imagen y mucho menos si se trata de un atardecer.

En cierta forma la alta definición, los colores brillantes y todos los avances tecnológicos que nos regala la era moderna han dejado de lado aquellos los primeros colores que le dieron vida a todo este inmenso mundo de la fotografía, es por esa razón que he decidido en esta oportunidad capturar un lindo y brillante atardecer haciendo uso de solo estos dos elementos. El resultado fue una imagen muy brillante que demuestra la belleza de la naturaleza pero al mismo tiempo la grandeza de la arquitectura caraqueña. A mi parecer cuando solo se trabajan con estos dos tonos las imágenes obtenidas resultan ser más profundas, tienen una historia propia que contar, pero al mismo tiempo transmiten cierta nostalgia, sin dejar de lado que también logran resaltar los detalles de cada estructura capturada en esa toma.
