Today has been a lot of running around, gathering supplies for the week and taking care of business. I am thankful for so much, that I can still fill a shopping cart fir $100 and fill my gas tank for $40. I can't help but think that the time for this is slipping away, similar to what happens in many nations, our money is loosing it's value and prices are going up. A dollar doesn't mean what it used to mean - but I hear it's very desirable in other countries!

Cost for Food

Typical cost per pound of food ranges between $3.00 and $6.00, with a few notable exceptions. I was able to find chicken lunch meat for $1.00/lb and frozen turkey for $0.50/lb (special for the season) and sweet potatoes for $0.50/lb. The biggest score was regular potatoes for $0.13/lb which is near miraculous. And I found Macraroni and cheese (powdered) for $0.67/lb. These are exceptions, though, found through diligent deal hunting - normally these are much more expensive.

This is why growing and storing our own food is critical as prices continue to rise. I'm not complaining, these things happen and they are outside of our control. We thank the Most High for our daily bread and continuing being alive and thriving!
