The highlight of our camping trip is Lake Michigan and the sand dunes by the beach.

We followed the trail (and the sound of the waves) to the water and were greeted with a mountain of sand.

The children immediately ran into the dunes towards the water.

The two boys saw the BIGGEST SANDBOX EVER!

Moses talked about all the interesting sights he was seeing... especially "birds" as there were a bunch of seagulls by the water.

Seagulls which the other children chased away!

Dipping our toes in the water, it's not that cold!

So happy to spend some time at the beach and explore the sand dunes!

We returned to camp for lunch, so we can go back to the beach some more!

I gathered some sticks for firewood when we get back.

Back at the beach, our little ones play in the water.

Daddy goes in the water to cool down and wash off.

It's a perfect day at the beach!

We came back to camp again for dinner and roast some "little smokies" (mini beef hot dogs) on the camp fire.

Our children are getting the hang of this camping thing.

Tonight is our special diner... campfire potatoes and steak!

We cook it right on the camp fire for an authentic "rustic" flavor. Or is that just rust. We don't know, but it tastes good!

We cut it up into little pieces to make it easy for everyone to enjoy it with the plastic ware.

Our final event of the day is our third visit to the beach to watch the sunset, but that's a post all on it's own.
