We Are Alive! February 19th, 2022 Sabbath

It's a Day of Rest!

We slept in, took our time getting ready for the gathering at 1:30 and assembled for singing, praying and discussing the word of God. We discussed the book of Ephesians, which is (in our opinion) a highly under-rated book among Paul's writings.

We eat leftovers for dinner, ride out the remaining hours of Sabbath and then begin our post-sabbath cleanup. That's Shabbat in a nutshell.

The day seems to go by very quickly, as days seem to lately, but we're recharged and ready for the next six days of work.

Doesn't it feel like you live from Shabbat to Shabbat?
Oh! Another question: how do you sleep in with small children? Mine like to get up EARLIER on Shabbat....

Yes, six days seem to fly by and before I know it, we're cleaning again for another Sabbath!

how do you sleep in with small children?

I suppose it's sort of "sleeping in" when we stay in bed longer than usual, not a whole lot of actual sleep. But it's much more restful waking up knowing we don't have anything planned until the afternoon! We have two nursing children and they consistently wake us up at daybreak, but we get to doze for several hours before breakfast!
