We Are Alive! December 28th, 2022 Projects and Strawberries

(Edited)

Today is another day of projects, we are canning the last of our apple sauce. We also made six jars of apple butter, which is pretty much apple sauce that is cooked much longer with sugar and spices.

My sister brought us back a special gift from Florida, a collection of fine chocolates. Each bar lists "pairings" to go with the chocolate, sort of like wine pairings.

And unexpected find at the grocery store was fresh strawberries for $1.50 / lb. A surprise for late December, not a time we usually get strawberries. I brought back six packages intending to dehydrate them for breakfast additions, mixed into oatmeal or malted wheat.

We cut up about five pounds of strawberries and laid them out on the dehydrator mat.

We're going to be enjoying strawberries for a while now! It will be interesting to see how many dehydrated strawberries we get from our five pounds. The basement smells delicious like strawberry jam. Yum!

Strawberries in December, what a blessing! They don't grow here while it's so cold outside, simply amazing that we can enjoy fresh strawberries during this season.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations. Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

Use coupon code FORTY for 40% off your purchase! Check out the books here.

I'm wondering if in the not too far distant future we will be getting back to eating more in season....as in no strawberries in the winter time! :-(

Yes, I think that time is coming... but for now they're delicious! I dehydrated them so we can enjoy them for the next few months.
