Every year around this time, I harvest my comfrey plant to make comfrey tea.

I cut off the large leaves and put them in a special 5 gallon bucket with small holes on the bottom and another 5 gallon bucket to collect the juice.

I fill the bucket with green leaves and stems.

Once the bucket is full, I check the bottom chamber for some tea!

I fill a mason jar with the nutritious concentrated fertilizer. This isn't for human consumption, but is full of nutrients: mostly nitrogen and calcium in a form that won't burn the plants.

When the comfrey plant is cut down, it looks like I destroyed it. Thankfully, it comes back year after year as the roots are very strong. We might even get one more set of leaves before winter!
