We Are Alive! August 20th, 2023 More Fun in the Sun
We were invited to a cottage by the lake to celebrate my mom's birthday. We were glad to visit with everyone and enjoy the sites and sounds of the big lake.
My sister has twins similar in age to my youngest - they were ready to go soak up the sunshine!
We came back and washed the sand off our feet.
There was a FEAST back at the cottage for an early diner.
After diner, we celebrated my mom's birthday with a special crazy chocolate cake made by my sister.
My littlest really enjoys "cawrs" and was delighted to see this giant car that he could drive (with some help).
After celebrating, we visited the water one last time. Daniel had fun with the castle he had built with his sisters.
It was a fun visit and I think my mom really enjoyed having family around to celebrate with her.
Children keep a person young, my mom is turning 73, she doesn't look her age at all!

Hello @ironshield. Wow, it sure looks like you are all having a wonderful time at the cottage! What is the name of the lake? The sanding beach looks so inviting. Your mom doesn't look like she is even 50! She looks fantastic! She looks so cute holding her cake and that is a really pretty cake too. Are those berries on the top of the cake? It looks yummy. We were near Lexington Michigan, north of Port Huron, so that was Lake Huron. WAy off in the distance is Canada!
My mom would be ticked to hear that, yes she does not show her age much at all. Some say I take after her, as they think I'm in my 30's when I'm actually 45 years old! I hope I look as young as her when I'm in my 70's.
My sister diced up strawberries and added blueberries to the cake. It was delicious!

Oh Thank you for your answers @ironshield - Lake Huron. I will look on the map to see where it is now. That is cool your were close to Canada! You look very young as well @ironshield! You will be really happy when your are 70 that you look 50 or less. I am lucky that way but need to take supplements and exercise to help it from taking over me LOL. I have some health issues like bone loss and things but still doing pretty good compared to others my age. Oh that's is nice your sister put fruit on the cake.
