The Bug Out Stack: What's In Your Bag?

Nobody Wants To Bug Out

But if we had to vacate quickly, what silver do you have ready to depart with you?

My favorite coin, that I think will be easiest to barter with, is constitutional silver. Any pre-1964 dime, quarter or half-dollar. It's easy to establish what the silver content is, they are easy to acquire and fairly small and light.

What's in Your Bag?

If sudden disaster strikes, people need to be ready to move quickly. How do you get past the checkpoints? How do you trade for food? How do you gain favor with strangers?

Shiny... historic... genuine... portable... silver coins!

I'll ask again, if we had to vacate quickly, what silver do you have ready to depart with you?

But definitely only put one in each pocket, so you can claim it's all you have left - people in a pinch can get upset if they think you're holding back on them, or only get one coin out of a whole stack. Plus maybe a few sewn into the bottom of your shirt lining (not a coat, coats are easy to lose or get taken).

I don’t think we will ever need to bug out in our lifetime. But being prepared is still important.

I hope you're right.

My bag has homeopathic remedies, and a few essential essential oils. I don't need to pack any healing herbs because they are aplenty anywhere in the world, especially my go to, pine needles. There's a bit of silver to carry along, but I hope to get some gold (gotta get on that!) because it is so much lighter than silver.

It is very delicious! With some very local honey, it's good for just about any illness, and tastes even more delicious when I am sick, which is rare.

Don't talk about what's in the bugout bag.

It's still very useful in local commerce even if I should do the hunker down option with a group of friends that are soft prepping.

Friends, resources and skills. These are more important than a bug out location.
