So, before buying it, you didn't do all the check-up?

We did inspect the underside of the vehicle, but the corroded wire was difficult to see. Thankfully, it's a common issue with older vehicles and easy (for most) to repair. It's also a relatively inexpensive part to replace compared to some parts. I'm sure this isn't the last issue we'll have to deal with, but considering the price-point we purchased it, there is some budget left for some modifications and repairs.

Looks like your neighbour is an expert!

This was a surprise! I didn't even know the skill my neighbor had in diagnosing issues. He even lent me his mat to lay on, making it a little easier to take care of.
