Silver comes in many forms, but my favorite is pure silver globs, known as silver "shot". It's not complicated, it's when silver is melted down to a molten liquid, then slowly poured into water, solidifying and forming little beads.

I have a one ounce bag of silver shot, representing 1.0 ozt the silver content of an one ounce round.

Pouring the beads into my hand, seeing them sparkle in the bright summer sunshine, and feeling the solid ounce weight, is very satisfying.

Now getting them all back into the bag is another challenge all together!

My largest collection of silver shot or "grain" is my unopened bottle 10 oz.

Looking carefully, you can see some silver "dust" on the bottom. Tiny little granuals of pure silver.

There are many stories of old time gold prospectors buying whisky with their "gold dust", if silver hits the moon, we might be trading someday with "silver dust".

I've always maintained, having small size silver is good. It would be difficult slicing up a one oz round into small pieces and it would take a lot of energy to melt them all down to make your own silver shot. Best to have it ready to go, grain by grain.
