Right before leaving for our trip, I purchased a number of Monster Raffle tickets, hoping to perhaps win some shiny. While I was away (with limited internet access) I found that I had won an Austrian Philharmonic Silver Coin! Minted 2023, it's in perfect shape, very shiny, featuring the Great Pipe Organ on the obverse and musical instruments on the reverse.

It's a beautiful coin, only the 16th edition of the silver version, previously these were only available in gold.

The obverse features the Great Pipe Organ in Vienna, at the back of the Great Hall of Musikverein. Inscriptions read "Republik Osterreich" and "1 unze feinsilber" representing the coin's weigh in German.

The reverse design is a cluster of musical instrument: a cello, four violins, a harp, a bassoon and a horn. Inscription says "Wiener Philharmoniker"

A Special Design, A Special Bullion

Because these coins were previously only minted in gold, having this design in silver is a very special treat. Gold and silver has been used as legal tender for centuries, which provides great financial stability. Many experts suggest that any form of silver bullion, bars or coins or rounds, may offer a sensible investment opportunity as a preservation of wealth if financial systems become insolvent and during times of economic uncertainty.

How much would 1 ozt of silver be worth in the coming days, months and years? I purchased a large portion of my collection while silver was between $12.00 and $13.00 / ozt. Now we are looking at values double that, between $24.00 and $26.00 / ozt. Currently, silver is around $22/ozt which is a good price at the moment.
