#7 Pray. Read. Share. #ForTheLord

This post marks the seventh #forthelord posts, forming a simple discipline of praying, reading scripture and sharing what was learned online. There are three steps:

  • Pray - Prayer is our talking to the Lord.
  • Read - We read to hear Him.
  • Share - Use the #forthelord tag on your posts or videos in Social media.

Pray and Seek

God Almighty
Whose Name is Holy
Protector of the innocent
Defender of the poor
Who raises up kings
Who brings them down
Who has everything in His Power
According to Your good pleasure
With a strong Right Hand
May we have Your Peace
As we enter into Your shabbat
That we may praise You
According to your immeasurable worth
We pray this in the Mighty Name
Of your Beloved Son
The Prince of Peace
Yeshua, the Saviour, the Messiah, Our Savior
AMEN

Read and Listen

Another excellent set of scriptures.

If they obey and serve him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures. But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, And they shall die without knowledge."

This is in regard to kings and reminds me of Psalm two, when the kings of the earth desire the "chains" removed from them - those "chains" are the commands of the Almighty, the King of kings. Do we want these "chains" removed too? Or do we acknowledge the goodness of God and His word.

"Do not rebel against YHVH" Numbers 14:9

Rebellion against the Lord is worse than the sin of witchcraft. (1 Samuel 15:23), it may not look all that bad - but from the perspective of the Most High, it is the most terrible of sins. Stubbornness is worse than iniquity and idolatry. We don't see stubbornness as all that bad, if what we're being stubborn over is justified in our own eyes. But how does God see it?

That is the question we should always be asking ourselves: how does God see it? Not "what do I think about it" or "what do others think about it". We have to look to that third-party authority: what does God think about it? Is it rebellion and stubbornness? Or is it willingness and obedience?

"obedience is better than sacrifice" wouldn't we rather be obedient then have to sacrifice? If we are obedient, we will sacrifice also, but with a pure heart.

What does God think about it?

Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing to me. What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices? says the LORD; I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of well-fed beasts; I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of goats. Jeremiah 6:20, Isaiah 1:11

Does God hate sacrifices? No, God hates hypocrisy - sacrifice without obedience is bribery! Sacrifice without obedience is play-acting! It has no meaning, it's an excuse to live however one desires, a giant "loop-hole" to find favor with the Most High.

But what does God think about it?

We should all learn the meaning of this scripture:

"I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings." Hosea 6:6

But the kings of the earth obey not... and they shall die without the knowledge of God.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.
