#11 Pray. Read. Share. #ForTheLord

This post marks the eleventh #forthelord posts, forming a simple discipline of praying, reading scripture and sharing what was learned online. There are three steps:

  • Pray - Prayer is our talking to the Lord.
  • Read - We read to hear Him.
  • Share - Use the #forthelord tag on your posts or videos in Social media.

Pray and Seek

Most High God
God of all gods
King of all kings
Lord of all lords
Master of all masters
You are the Master of the spirits
You are the Master of the Armies of Heaven
You are the Great "I Am"
You are Holy, Holy, Holy
We exult Your Name
We are humbled in Your presence
We tremble at Your word
We lay prostrate before Your majesty
We beg Your mercy
We desire Your kindness
We seek after Your justice
We walk in Your Righteousness
The narrow path
Though we stray into sin and death
You have made the way of righteousness and life
May we walk in Your Way, the ancient path
The path that leads to life
Your path is Your Beloved Son, Yeshua
He is the Way, Your Word made flesh
And it is in His Name we pray.
AMEN.

Read and Listen

In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin:
But he that refraineth his lips is wise.

We've been discussing what it means to guard the tongue, to refrain from speaking. It was observed that it's easy to speak, to activate the mouth to speak "flow of consciousness" whatever comes to mind. But it is much better to refrain from doing this, to place a guard over the tongue, that every word is checked. Most of the time, it is worthwhile for it not to be said.

Knowing when to speak and when to remain quiet is a skill - it takes a lifetime to master this ability. As children, we are encouraged to speak all the time. If a child is not speaking, people are concerned. But what about adults? Should we be speaking all the time? Or should we concentrate on listening and pondering, before speaking.

Life and death are in the power of the tongue

This is more true than we know. We've been taught the proverb "sticks and stones... words will never hurt me", but this isn't exactly accurate. Words not only hurt, but they kill. Discouraging words can kill enthusiasm, disparaging comments can derail a project. Words bring about wars and famines.

But words can also bring life, just as Yeshua brought us life.

“Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."

If we meditate on the words of eternal life, and not speak evil with our tongue, we shall experience life and an abundance of life. I think this is what we all desire. AMEN.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

Bank Bailout Special!

It's happening, folks. The banks are going under! To educate our children about what is going on, there is a "Bank Bailout Book Bonanza" going on with the Tuttle Twins! Use coupon code FORTY for 40% off your purchase! Check out the books here.
