"The glory of gardening — Hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature."

— Author Unknown —

I was out the yard at around 11 am yesterday. Was supposed to just check on things but the sunshine was so inviting so I decided to sow some greens on 5 trays that the husband had prepared about 10 days ago but have forgotten about. It was good he covered them with a net so the rain didn't take the compost away.

I brought out the garden umbrella and stayed under its shade because the sun's heat was a bit too much. Had some music on my phone then began my day's mission. Making shallow holes, putting one seed in each, carefully topping them off with a bit of soil, then covering them back with the net.

"Whew! That was easy-peasy!" I found myself mumbling when I remembered I had to turn the sprinkler on. Gotta water them for a short while so the seeds will germinate quickly.

And boom! Job was done! Was that even considered work?

Anyhow, checking the time out, it was already 2:30 in the afternoon! "Whaaat?" my mind screamed. Yep, can't believe it either, I even forgot about lunch, lol! My stomach didn't complain that's why. It's hard to ignore it when it does but surprisingly, it didn't.

Anyhow, went straight to the shower after putting things back in order and switching the sprinkler off. Then late lunch followed, well technically, it was a snack. Two pieces of toasted and buttered white bread, sliced bananas and of course coffee! I could say these are just some of the things I can freely do and indulge myself with when the husband is away.

It was a lovely break from the screen, getting out, playing with dirt, feeding my eyes and generally my soul. And I shall do that again, sooooon...

Last photo by the way was taken this morning while visiting the farthest end of the yard. Just glad most of my plants are thriving even without constant care. But then the weeds are growing quickly too.

Happy Friday everyone!

Loved the glimpse into your day in the garden. It is only indoor container gardening for me now, but I remember sunny summers spent mostly in the garden. My grandfather and I would be silly and make hats from giant rhubarb leaves to protect us from the sun. I am not sure how well it actually worked but we didn't care because it made us laugh.

It must be fun spending time with your grandfather and doing those things :) That's one of the things that makes life fun and joyful, creating memories with those whom we love, laughing, being silly even hehe. Thank you for sharing and it's better to have an indoor garden than none at all :)
