Manchester City did anything but hide their desire to sign Harry Kane last summer. With Aguero exiting, the club was in need of a quality striker. Hence, their approach towards Tottenham for Harry Kane.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has come out go speak on the potential transfer. According to Pep, Manchester City made about four attempts to land the striker. However, all four attempts were rejected by the Tottenham board.

In his press conference, Guardiola insisted that his club is now suffering from their inability to purchase a world-class striker.
The Spanish tactician was open-minded, insisting that it could hinder their performances this season.

In terms of an out and out striker, a true number 9, Manchester City have lacked that in recent years.
The purchase of Harry Kane would have given them a clear edge. Now, Pep has it all to do for himself without the services of a true 9.
