It is not only in river Jordan that John baptized
John 3:23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

So john the baptist know what he his doing when he baptized JESUS in river Jordan because he knows what he his doing it is not only in river Jordan that people can be baptized maybe because of the convenience for people John decided to baptized people in Aenon near salim is not logical you have to go river Jordan.

Their are things are visible that is something in law,who do not have money to buy piece of bread to eat will have fare to go to river Jordan it's impossible the value or important of baptism Is because it is step to salvation it is necessary for salvation.

1 Peter 3:20-21 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

GOD use water to wash away corruption from the earth it was only Noah and family that was saved if you believe,For you to be saved or baptized is to accept salvation.

Mark 10:39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

It is not regardless the place

Acts 8:36-38 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

Acts 8:27-28 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

He was baptized not in river Jordan had it been it river Jordan it would be written here he was baptized in a body of waters.
So it's tells us that baptism can be done in any body of waters.
