Very strange dreams last night about being a pro wrestler

avatar

I really enjoy dreaming and I am one of those people that does dream almost every night and I also end up remembering quite a bit of it after it happens. There are studies out there that say that everyone dreams and even most other creatures do as well as those of us with dogs have noticed when the make little growling or barking noises while they are asleep.

I don't know how the scientists come to the conclusion that everyone dreams, but I suppose they have their methods. Most of the people I know say they rarely remember much about their dreams and in my instance I guess I am an anomaly because I almost always remember my dreams. Last night's feature presentation was particularly strange since I haven't thought about the material in it for quite some time.

A long time ago I was really into professional wrestling like WWE (back when it was called WWF prior to the World Wildlife Federation suing them) and more so WCW when it was called NWA. I was a huge fan and would always watch the broadcasts when they came on TV... Remember TV? Like when you had to be there at a certain time of day in order to be able to see something? Am I old? haha

Ok, so anyway in my dream Vince McMahon was talking to me, and apparently I was a pro-wrestler about how they were working on an upcoming "beef" that was going to take place between me and Brock Lesnar. I remember thinking even in the dream that Brock is fucking huge, how is this going to work? I am not a small guy and am much larger than most South East Asians but I am nowhere near Brock's size. I'm 6 feet tall and about 190-195 lbs. Now Brock is only an inch or so taller than me, but he weighs in at 285 lbs.... Plus most of his weight is muscle whereas I cannot claim the same.

This guy's neck muscles are as big as my legs

About the only thing that me and Lesnar have in common physically is our height so I remember in the dream talking to Vince and telling him that I think Brock might be a bit big for me to be against. Vince didn't care though and had already made his mind up.

The "setup" for how our beef was meant to begin for the audience was just ridiculous: Brock and I were originally friends (in the dream) and we would hang out outside of wrestling. I was going to decide one day that I was going to turn heel and would release some embarrassing footage of him singing karaoke to the audience and then make fun of him relentlessly. Then I was going to steal his girlfriend as well.

Believe it or not Brock actually does sing at various country music shows from time to time but I was unaware of this until I looked it up just now. I didn't know that prior to the dream and the only reason why I bothered to look into it is because of the dream.

So as they are setting us up for this storyline beef between me and Brock I remember they were doing establishing shots of me and Brock hanging out and exercising and then hitting a karaoke club afterwards. What a crazy thing to dream about huh? Well, in the dream I was significantly larger than I am in real life but there were very real worries about how Brock is going to seriously hurt me!

The strange thing about this dream (as if it wasn't strange enough already) was that this was a two-parter. I actually woke up in the middle of the night, went to the bathroom and then went back to sleep only to re-enter the same dream sequence. In the 2nd part of this epic dream we were doing the shots of me in the ring talking to the crowd and playing the horrible karaoke footage to the crowd. The crowd was laughing and I was making fun of how tone-deaf Brock is and then as it would happen in actual WWE shows, Brock interrupted me, complete with the usual entrance music and rushed the ring. This is where the dream ended for me probably because I was really afraid about the fact that this guy is an actual beast and is going to kick the hell out of me.

They say that you will always wake up just moments before you die in dreams that you have and that you can't actually die in dreams. I suppose that is what happened to me in that dream because in all of my life I can say that I have never had a dream about professional wrestling. It is made additionally strange because I haven't actually watched any wrestling in probably years. The only thing that would have even reminded me that the sport exists recently is when I was in one of those sports bars that has honestly, too many screens and one of them was playing WWE. I didn't even watch it but just noticed it was on during one of my trips to the bathroom.

It's funny how the mind works I guess but I'll say one thing for sure: I definitely would not want to be on Lesnar's bad side either in a script or in real life. Psychologists have a lot of ways of breaking down the meaning of your dreams but I'd love to see what they have to say about this one!

Ha ha, that's pretty funny. Such a crazy detailed dream too. I stopped watching wrestling after the days of ultimate warrior and the undertaker. My brother in laws brother in law knew Brock because he would hang out at the university if Minnesota where the brother in law was a wrestling coach. Now he's the coach for the US national team. Great stuff you shared here!

Yeah i don't really have much to do with it anymore either. The "attitude era" was really awesome to me back when people would get bloodied up and what not but then for some reason they were no longer allowed to do that. There's also only so many stories that can take place and the beefs that the have with one another end up being kind of stupid. At the risk of sounding sexist I also don't think the women's division does much for the overall sport.

I think part of it for me was the point I realized it wasn't real. So quite young you can imagine. That's kind of when I lost interest. I used to watch it every Saturday morning before that though.

Interesting. I'm the guy who can't remember much of my dreams. But something tells me I'm just not trying hard enough to remember it unless I did speak about it or make a note to remember it.

Remembering 1 dream is hard enough for me, to continue from the previous dream is almost impossible. And I am the guys who die in the dream and took a huge blank step woke up midnight kicking my blanket away, and then not remembering what's the deal and got back to sleep 🤣 especially when I'm facing tremendous amount of pressure

I sometimes have dreams so intense that I wake up swinging and kicking. I have smacked the crap out of my girlfriend on a number of occasions and that wasn't a very fun experience for her either.

A friend advised me to have a b vitamin complex, c vitamin, magnesium, and zinc pills before going to bed to see vivid dreams. It worked for me, but it was an uncomfortable sleep.

hahaha, my brothers and I went to a U of M wrestling camp, and he was wrestling there at the time and was one of the coaches. I was probably like 10 years old....so ya, he went easy on me.

That's still pretty awesome. Was this pre-WWE for him?

Looking at pictures of Lesnar when he was a kid I would bet he wasn't often picked on. Some people are just built different and he is one of them.

This one is way out there lol and don't actually quite know how to read it besides it being a detailed dream. It would be great of we could plug our brains in whilst sleeping and have like a movie of what goes down as some would make a good script for a film.

There probably are films about that. I remember one called Dreamscape from the 80's that was pretty decent. Plus i think that there was a Jennifer Lopez film that was all about intentionally entering dreams and manipulating them.
