Why you should stay curious

Stay curious, it is one of the golden rules of being a human being. In fact, it is the most important rule of being a human being. Curiosity can fuel creativity, inquiry and eventually innovation. We all have to do with a curious mind, we all like to ask questions, we are inquisitive, we are creative people. So, I would like to invite you to stay curious.

Stay curious for growth mindset and you will get growth mindset. Growth mindset is about challenging existing thinking patterns to new ones, challenging those assumptions and thoughts that keep you stuck in a limited mindset. You have to be willing to ask new ideas and to develop new ways of looking at things. Growth mindset is very much related to empowering yourself, your mind and your body. This kind of mindset leads you to making positive changes in your life and it also makes you more willing to take risks and to take up challenges in your work and in your personal life.

To be curious and yet be confused is a mental affliction called Doubt. Doubt keeps you from asking new ideas, from challenging your existing beliefs and from utilizing your imagination to think of innovative new solutions to problems. It prevents you from taking risks and from doing the unexpected. It prevents you from innovating because you don't dare do it. Your mindset is limiting you, it is preventing your mind, your body and your imagination from working in the way that they could.

So, I would like to invite you to be curious and to be confused at the same time. (Laughter) To be curious means to be open to possibility and to understand. To be confused means that you are limiting your possibilities by rejecting possible possibilities. To drive your car down the road while your foot is planted on the brake is to be in a state of curiosity. To be curious and confused at the same time means you are a person who is on the road of life-that is "on the Rockies."

Life is built on being curious and on being confused at the same time. Human beings have an amazing ability to do both. That ability is called the entrepreneurial spirit. The entrepreneurial spirit is the seed of growth mindset and the cornerstone of all distributed teams.

Growth mindset is where your thoughts, your decisions and your actions are directed towards what is a concrete goal in your life. It's not just about what you want to get out of life, but it's also about what you will get out of life-a growth that you desire. A desire to create wealth, health, security, love and happiness-in fact, a powerful desire to transform suffering and pain in a world that you shape and create with your mind. It is a powerful desire to take the wheel and to let your wheels do the driving, to be your own navigator along the road towards action.

You can be curious and still use the entrepreneurial spirit because you are still taking baby steps toward the future. You can still use the entrepreneurial mindset to ask questions, to pursue the opportunity and to follow your heart. You can be curious and still use the power of remote work from home to take the next step. You can be curious and still use the power of distributed teams to transform suffering and pain in a world that you shape and create with your mind.

Being curious and being uncertain at the same time is the essential recipe for success. It is the best recipe for wild success. It's what separates those who get lost in the desert from those who find a rusted metal detector and find gold. It's what separates the men from the boys and the warriors from the cowboys and the dreamers from the dreamers. Curious and uncertain-that's the recipe for success.
