In the summer transfer window, several clubs tried to lure Scottish defender Aaron Hickey out of the hands of Serie A club Bologna. It did not succeed, however, because Bologna reportedly is not interested in selling the Scot.

By January, however, two of the clubs are reportedly returning with new bids for Hickey. It writes Corriere dello Sport.

This applies to both Aston Villa and Celtic. Whether the club in the coming transfer window wants to sell Hickey, however, is doubtful. In two of the last three Serie A rounds, the defender has scored goals for Bologna. These are Hickey's first two goals for the Serie A club.

19-year-old Hickey switched to the Italian club from Hearts in his home country in the summer of 2020. Bologna paid 15 Million for the young Scot, who still has his A national team debut to his credit.
