Lessons from the mass inductrination day 3 held on the 13th October 2021 via zoom
It was a great time listening to great teaching from bro Eli. A lot of lessons were learnt and I just want to share few from the lessons.
We should avoid repetition when praying. When you are in a storm, even the smallest prayer will be held by God. The rosery is not a teaching of Christ.
Matthew 6:5-8 KJV
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are : for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. [6] But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. [7] But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do : for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. [8] Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Praying should not be done to show off to men. It should be a private matter between us and God. It is prohibited to show off when we pray.
Mark 11:25 KJV
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
There is a provision in the Bible to pray standing but not like the hypocrites.
When praying to God, if we can knee down, we should.
Acts 20:36 KJV
And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
Matthew 26:39 KJV
And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt
Jesus fell on His face when He prayed.
